DaLee, Sebbas Lead UA to Victory over California


TUCSONJunior middle blocker Marisa DaLee matched her career high with 21 kills as No. 18 Arizona rallied to a 14-16, 15-5, 15-7, 15-13 victory over California here Friday night.

The win stretched the Cats' season-best winning streak to four and improved them to 16-8 on the year, 10-5 in Pac-10 play. The Golden Bears fell to 10-15 and 5-11.

Sophomore middle blocker Erin Sebbas, subbing for the injured Stefanie Saragosa, recorded 10 kills and 10 blocks. Sebbas, who had posted just five kills and six blocks in two years of limited play prior to Friday's match, was making her first career start.

Pac-10 Player of the Week Dana Burkholder had seven kills, 67 assists and 12 digs for the Cats, while freshman outside hitter Lisa Rutledge posted 19 kills and 13 digs.

Arizona had a season-high 11 service aces, led by freshman defensive specialist Rachel Williams' four.

Cal was led by junior outside hitter Alicia Perry's 22 kills and senior outside hitter Brook Coulter's 14 kills and 16 digs.

Arizona returns to action Saturday night when it plays host to its final Pac-10 home match of the season at 7:00 against second-ranked and five-time defending Pac-10 champion Stanford.
